With Lee’s death in 1987, the company was separated into four business groups namely Samsung Group, Shinsegae Group, CJ Group and Hansol Group.

The company is famous for electronic products and its wide range of products include Mobile Phones, LED TV, Plasma TV, DVD Player, Smart Cameras, Refrigerators, Washing Machines, Oven, Air Conditioner etc. The company also dealt in groceries and produced its own noodles initially.

The company invested the large amount in research and development during the year 1980. It built television assembly plants in many countries which helped to raise international businesses and services globally.
